We have received another lovely big donation from the ‘Southern Dippers’ a bunch of hardy souls that complete 4 New Years’ Day dips one after another! The first is at Chapel Beach, then Port St Mary inner harbour, Gansey Beach and finally Port Erin.
Lenny Conroy has been organising the event for 12 years now and all the money raised goes to local charities. This year Lenny wanted to support Katherine Crowe the local singing superstar who sadly has terminal breast cancer. However Kath very generously directed Lenny to our charity as Kath has been a big part of the Group over the years, taking part in ‘Fashion for Life’ both as a model and performer. Approx 220 swimmers took part on a freezing Jan 1st and raised £1626.77!! A £1000 of that very generously came from one of their sponsors Poker Stars. Thank you so much to everyone involved.
